APHASIA GROUPS*
PURPOSE: To provide those individuals experiencing
speech and language difficulty an opportunity to improve
and/or review skills, while having a chance to interact with
their peers.
MODERATOR: These groups are moderated by stroke victors who
have little or no difficulty with speech and language.
COSTS: There are no “dues” or “fees” attached to these
groups. However, we welcome donations from those able to
contribute to assist us with our programming costs. There is a
box labeled DONATIONS in the waiting room. Please rest assured
that these funds will go directly toward our ability to
continue to provide meaningful programs and materials.
PROGRAMS
APHASIA I:
Designed to provide assistance to victors who have
difficulty expressing their thoughts and ideas.
Meeting times: Tuesdays and Thursdays, from
10:00a.m. to 12:00p.m.
APHASIA II:
Designed to provide assistance to victors experiencing
memory deficits.
Meeting time: Wednesday, 10:30a.m. to 12:00p.m.
APHASIA III:
Designed to provide assistance to victors in the area of
cognitive skills – reading and writing.
Meeting time: Friday, 10:30a.m. to 12:00p.m.
*These
groups will be limited to no more than 10 participants to
allow for space limitations and frequency of response.
Additional groups will be added as needed. |
