| The Stroke
of Hope Club, Inc., a not—for—profit organization, was
founded in October, 1984 our mission is to work toward
increased awareness of stroke prevention, improved community
education, and —above all— to provide information, education
and support to stroke "victors", their families and friends.
The Stroke of hope Club, Inc. provides services to all stroke
"victors", their families and friends. recognizing that no two
strokes are the same and no two families coping with stroke do
so in the same way.
Stroke of Hope Club, Inc.
provides services throughout Palm Beach, Martin and Indian
River Counties. We offer monthly meetings for stroke victors
and caregivers, including separate support groups. Weekly
"aphasia groups", designed for stroke victors with speech and
language deficits are held at our office in North Palm Beach,
and in Hobe Sound at the Hobe Sound Community Presbyterian
Church. These groups are moderated by stroke victors without
speech deficits who want to help others. Our "Hope Hotline”
offers immediate information and support to victors and
caregivers. As a result of funding received from the OAA Title
lll-E National Family Caregiver Support Program, we are able
to offer counseling, education and support programs for
caregivers.
Stroke of Hope Club, Inc.
was founded on the premise that people who come to our
meetings seeking information and support should not he
required to pay "dues" for that support. Thus, as we continue
to respect the wishes of our Founders, there are no “dues”
collected in order to attend out meetings. The only
requirement to be considered a ‘memher’ is to attend a minimum
of three (3) meetings annually. including aphasia meetings.
